Akunnor rues missed chances after All Stars draw

Dreams FC boss CK Akunnor was left to rue his side’s missed chances in the wake of their disappointing 1-1 premier league draw with Wa All Stars at the Theater of Dreams, Dawu on Saturday.

The hosts had the top-placed visitors on the back foot in the first half, after Emmanuel Lomotey opened the scoring but were pegged back after 30 minutes by Wahidu Mumuni, who latched onto a short pass and fired his finish past goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey.

“In the first half, we had the opportunity to control the game in the sense that we should have scored the chances we had. We were not able to do that and it’s very painful to go out with a draw,” Akunnor said.

“I mean we had a chance to win the game. I’m a bit disappointed but it’s all good. We will regroup and re-strategise for the next game.”

The result means both clubs have extended their run without a defeat in the campaign after four games and All Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori’s three-game clean sheets came to an end on Saturday.
