Akonnor feels honored to scout for Ghana

Former Captain of the Black Stars, C. K Akonor, has described his appointment as a scout for Ghana’s 2015 Nations campaign as a big honor.
He said as a Ghanaian, any opportunity given to him to serve the country is always a chance for him to give back to the country for the investment made in him during his playing days.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sportscrusader.com, the former coach of Accra Hearts of Oak said his appointment will also give him and his colleagues the chance to help the nation realize its dream of winning the tournament.
“I am going to do my best to assist the coach in the discharge of his duties since we all have the same goal of winning the tournament,” he said.
He added that this will also help him enrich his coaching career because scouting for a team is one tedious task which needs special attention therefore it will also serve as a capacity building process for him.
He added that although this is not his first because he did something like with Right to Dream where he scouted for players from Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast, coaching is a learning process so he will take this opportunity and make good use of it.
Akonnor told the website that the trio is yet to meet with the FA to finalise their roles but checks made by sportscrusader.com indicates that he might scout for South Africa.
