Ex-Black Stars trainer, EK Afranie does not expect too many surprise inclusions in Ghana’s squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, stating that it would be important for the new Coach of the senior national football team, Avram Grant, to build his team around the established youngsters in the current set-up.
“When they (the current members of the Black Stars) come to Ghana, do they do well in the team? They are the boys we should rely on for the future of the team, so I don’t expect most of them to be dropped,” Coach Afranie told Accra based Starr 103.5FM.
Some Ghanaian football pundits have argued that Enoch Adu Kofi, Frank Acheampong, John Antwi and Daniel Amartey among other players have displayed an impressive performance at club level this season and must be considered for places as surprise inclusions in the AFCON 2015 squad ahead of players like John Boye and other regular faces in the team, that qualified the Black Stars to the continental tournament.
Coach Grant, who is expected to release his squad before the January 7th CAF deadline, is currently in London drafting the Black Stars pre-tournament training program.
