Senegal goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul says the team does not fear any opponent as they prepare to lock horns with Bafana Bafana, Ghana and Algeria in Group C of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
The tournament takes place in Equatorial Guinea from January 17 to February 8.
“We do not fear anyone. It is going to be difficult for everybody,” Coundoul said.
“We need to go to the AFCON with only the football in our minds. We need to also be on top as far as the logistics is concerned.”
Senegalese Football Federation president Augustin Senghor is also confident the Teranga Lions can impress at CAF’s premier competition.
“Being in pot 4, we were expecting a tough group and it is what happened. It is also the most balanced group given the latest FIFA rankings,” he said.
“But we are here to continue to improve. We knew that we would end up with at least two great teams and we were left with three great teams.
“But to be drawn in a difficult group will not lower our ambitions. We have what it takes to go through, because while it is going to be difficult for us, it is going to be difficult for the three other teams.”
