Aduana coach eyes improved performance against Kotoko

Aduana Stars manager Coiaba Aristica claims there are still lots of work to be done on his players despite sharing the spoils 1-1 with Ashanti Gold at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday.

Emmanuel Osei Baffour’s 42nd minute spot-kick gave Ashanti Gold the lead but a sumptuous late strike from Bright Adjei ensured that Aduana left the stadium with a point.

However, Aristica, who was playing his first away game after replacing Nurudeen Ahmed, expects his charges to up their game in subsequent matches.

“I’m satisfied with the outcome but not satisfied with the game. My players didn’t play to my expectations but I have another week to work on them before our next game [against Asante Kotoko]. Step by step, the team will improve,” Aristica said.

“I started the game with four, five midfielders just to see the opponent’s strength and weaknesses. We worked on this within the week during training.

“Some players understood but some players didn’t understand and I hope to see improvement henceforth,” he added.

Aduana have picked four points out of six under Aristica and will play host to giants Asante Kotoko on April 2, when the league resumes from the international break. They have now moved from the bottom of the table to 13th.
