Adriano has agreed a new one-year deal with Barcelona.
The Brazilian’s contract was due to expire in the summer but he has exercised the option to extend it by another 12 months.
Adriano has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Catalan giants this season, with just seven of those coming in La Liga.
However, Adriano has taken up the option of prolonging his stay at Camp Nou, extending his contract until June 30, 2017.
In a Barca statement, the club said they were “delighted with the player’s decision”.
Adriano joined the Spaniards in 2010 from Sevilla and has won three league titles and the Champions League twice with the club.
