Ghana midfielder Frank Acheampong scored his second goal within four days to help a 10-man Anderlecht defeat KV Kortrijk 3-0 at Stade Constant Vanden Stock in the Belgium Jupiler League on Sunday.
The 22-year-old, who was on target last Thursday in their 3-1 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in Europa League, found the back of the net once more after being set up by Alexander Buttner in the 49th minute.
His strike added up to Stefano Okaka Chuka’s opener while Serigne Modou Kara Mbodji made it 3-0 on the hour mark.
However, Anderlecht were reduced to 10 men following the expulsion of midfielder Stephane Badji for a reckless challenge.
Acheampong’s inspiring performances won him the Player of the Month of February at his club.
He struck twice within eight minutes during extra time in the Purple and White’s triumph over Olympiacos in the round of 32 of the Uefa Europa League last month.
Anderlecht are third on the league log with 55 points, nine points behind leaders Club Brugge.
Acheampong is expected to play a vital role when Ghana host Mozambique in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers later this month.
