USA based Ghanaian boxer, Samir Bastie is too strong an opponent for undefeated Ghanaian boxer Bukom Banku according to the latter’s manager, Abraham Kortey Neequaye.
Bastie and Bukom were scheduled to slug it out in December on the fist of fury bout under the staples of McDon boxing Promotions and syndicate but the undefeated champion pulled out from the bout for reasons best known to him.
Officials of McDon boxing promotions have stated categorically that Bukom will have to fight Samir or risk facing the wrath of GBA.
Although Bukom Banku has taken a share of the signing-on fee for the supposed bout against Samir Bastie, his manager, Kortey Neequaye admitted that his boxer is dragging his feet because he knows he can’t win against Samir Bastie hence the delay in the supposed fight.
“I can confidently say that Samir is a credible boxer and Bukom cannot face him on any day, so all the delay in this supposed fight is because Bukom is afraid to fight.”
“He has not trained well and before he can fight him he has to train for 5 to 6 months.”
“Samir is a tough boxer who spars with Mayweather and it tells you how good he is, my boxer is afraid and we have to leave it as it is.”
“In boxing, people run from fights so if my boxer is running from this fight it’s nothing new, why has Pacquiao not fight Mayweather?
